Budapest Airport–in which HTA has a 75 percent stake–is committed to operate in a sustainable manner and in compliance with all applicable national and international regulations. Within its organizational structure, the airport company has set up an Environment Department which provides professional management knowledge and support.

Budapest Airport has established its own internal standards, which are set to exceed the legally required minimum. Since 2005, the company has developed and implemented an integrated Quality & Environment Management System certified in line with ISO 14001: 2004.

The certification has been issued by an independent third party (SGS) and has three-year validity, which is followed by another examination of the environmental management system.

Budapest Airport communicates its environmental policy to all its partners, suppliers, subcontractors and employees as well as to the public and other interested parts. It conducts an open dialogue with the media and is always reachable for any questions by the passengers.
