Established gateway in Central and Eastern Europe: Budapest Airport
HOCHTIEF AirPort has a
43.5 percent share in the total capital stock of the airport
company Budapest Airport Zrt. and holds
37.3 percent of the voting shares.
Budapest Airport is Hungary's only important international airport and the second-biggest in the new
EU countries.
In 2008, it handled more than eight million passengers. In the next ten years, Budapest Airport is to be
developed into one of the most important airports in Central and Eastern Europe in terms of growth, service quality and
efficiency.
The basis for this is being created by a modernization program designated BUD Future. Among other things, this entails
linking Terminals 2A and 2B by means of a new building called the BUD SkyCourt and constructing new piers
with passenger bridges. In addition, a new air cargo facility is being built and hangars for aircraft maintenance and
engine tests are being erected.
