An airport needs to have more than just an excellent international reputation,
it needs to have a good standing in its local region, too. HOCHTIEF AirPort
therefore places particular emphasis on the relationship between an airport and
its neighbors.
This means that our shareholdings try to avoid any unnecessary noise. For one
thing, they encourage the use of quiet, modern aircraft and machines - because
even though aircraft noise has been reduced by 30 decibels over the last 40
years, thus cutting the level of subjectively perceived noise by 90 percent,
aircraft noise remains a sensitive issue, as does airport traffic noise on
roads.
Our objectives
Aircraft noise, air quality and aviation safety are topics that attract great
public attention and generate intensive discussion. The development of an
airport necessitates taking all relevant socio-economic and ecological factors
fully into account. At its holdings, HOCHTIEF AirPort supports systematic and
forward-looking environmental protection policies as well as the development and
use of new technologies to ease the burden on nature and natural resources.
